Galactic Cake Party

When we read about Sweetly Raw dessert diva Heathy’s Ice Cream Cake Challenge we thought it sounded too delicious to pass up.  When dreaming up our ice cream cake we wanted something colorful and full of flavor that would keep us dancing and dreaming all night long.  We wanted a

Galactic Cake Party

Strawberry ice creamy sorbet flew in on her wild space machine to have a cosmic dalliance with spirulina lime green ice cream. But their sweetheart dance wasn’t complete with out the whipped blueberry frosting milky way jumping in to wrap them up in pure galactic bliss. Some blackberry clouds carried the beat.

So dance all night
through the galaxies of dreams!

Thanks Heathy for such a fun challenge!  We were plenty inspired by your always golden recipes and our galactic cake party was a blast!

If this cake had a soundtrack it would sound like this…

Spring Sounds

Janelle Monáe is channeling a spirit of sound greater than all of us.  You see, with the Spring Equinox turning days ever longer, we’ve been doing some extra dancing around the beautiful seas, shores, valleys, and mountains of Vibrant Maine.  We hope that you’ve been doing plenty of the same.  Getting inspired by the beyond worlds amazing work of Monáe and other musical geniuses is just one way we bring the spring around here – and we have lots of new ideas, videos, posts, and bike ride picnics coming your way.

How do you celebrate spring in all her righteous green?

Wednesday Wackiness

A goofy little film from the Boutenko Family that makes me want to have a costume party and sing about kale.  What vegetable do you want to (or do!) sing about? Or better yet, dress up as?

Rainy Noise – Noisy Rain

In celebration of two days of gorgeous rain I thought I would share with you a little bit of the soundtrack that has been playing around here.

I think it is the quick little beats in Lykke Li‘s song Little Bit that remind me of the sound of raindrops pattering against my window.  I’ve been listening to her song and others as I have been working on a new herbal green powder to support the circulatory system in preparation for spring cleansing.  Many folks involved in the raw food lifestyle incorporate green powders into their daily diet (myself included).  As I am studying to be an herbalist, I enjoy custom herbal green powder blends to directly address common conditions such as improving circulation, build up immunity, soothe sore muscles, and helping bring the body back into balance.

Here’s to the rain, green powder, & bouncy beats!
